2. Purpose and scope
2.1. These Terms set out the conditions under which LYC sells and provides the Services to Clients through the Platform.
2.2. The Services are designed to help Clients prepare for recruitment processes (internships, graduate programmes, full-time positions and similar paid roles) in corporate finance and strategy consulting. They are training and practice services only.
2.3. These Terms apply to the exclusion of any other terms, including any general purchasing conditions of the Client, unless LYC has expressly accepted them in writing.
2.4. Where specific terms are agreed in writing with an Institutional Client, those terms prevail over these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.
3. Acceptance, entry into force and modification
3.1. Before placing an Order, the Client must (i) accept these Terms by ticking a dedicated box, and (ii) confirm that they have read the Privacy Policy, which explains how LYC processes personal data. Any optional consent (for example, to receive marketing emails) is requested separately, through an unticked box, and is not a condition of the Order.
3.2. The contract between LYC and the Client is formed when LYC sends the Order confirmation email. That email is sent on a durable medium and contains (i) a summary of the Order (components, duration, price and, where relevant, the automatic renewal), (ii) LYC's identity and contact details, (iii) the version of these Terms applicable to the Order, with a link to them, and (iv) where relevant, the Client's express request for immediate performance and acknowledgement regarding the right of withdrawal (Section 8). These Terms remain available on the Website in a form that can be saved and printed.
3.3. LYC may amend these Terms and its Offers at any time. Amended Terms apply to Orders placed after their publication. For a recurring Subscription, LYC will notify the Client by email at least 30 days before any amendment takes effect at renewal; a Client who does not agree may cancel the Subscription before the renewal date at no cost.
4. Eligibility and Account
4.1. The Services are reserved for persons who are at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity to contract. A legal person acts through a duly authorised representative.
4.2. Certain Services require an Account. When creating it, the Client must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information (including name, email address and, where requested, school, programme and target roles) and keep it updated.
4.3. Each Client may hold only one Account. An Account is strictly personal and may not be transferred, sold or shared.
4.4. The Client is responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through their Account. The Client must inform LYC without delay of any loss of credentials or suspected unauthorised use.
5. Description of the Services
5.1. Online training Content. A Subscription gives the Client access to the Content of the Programme(s) included in the selected Offer for the duration stated in that Offer. Before payment, each Offer page states its exact components, duration, languages, technical requirements, any usage limits on AI-powered features, the number of Coaching Sessions included and how they are scheduled. These elements are repeated in the Order summary. LYC may update or improve Content during the Subscription, provided the main characteristics of the Offer are not substantially changed (see Section 14.3).
5.2. Coaching Sessions. Coaching Sessions are delivered online by video call, for the duration stated in the Offer (for example, 30 minutes). They are booked through the Platform's scheduling tool, subject to Coach availability. Section 9 sets out the booking, rescheduling and cancellation rules.
5.3. AI-powered features. Some Services may include AI-powered exercises or automated feedback (for example, on spoken answers or on a CV). Inputs may be transcribed and processed to generate that feedback. AI-generated feedback is automated, may contain errors and is provided for practice purposes only; it is not professional, legal or career advice.
5.4. Certificate of completion. Where an Offer includes it, a certificate of completion is issued once the Client has completed the relevant Programme. It attests to completion of LYC training only and is not an academic or professional qualification.
5.5. No guarantee of outcome. LYC undertakes to supply the Content, features and Coaching Sessions described in the Offer, in conformity with the contract. LYC does not, however, guarantee any particular result, such as success at an interview, an internship, a job offer or any career progression, which depends on factors outside its control.
5.6. Legal warranty of conformity. Consumers benefit from the statutory warranty of conformity for digital content and digital services under Articles 1701/1 et seq. of the former Belgian Civil Code. If Content or a feature is not in conformity with the contract, the Consumer may require LYC to bring it into conformity within a reasonable time, free of charge. Where this is impossible, disproportionate, not done within a reasonable time or the lack of conformity is serious, the Consumer may obtain a proportionate price reduction or terminate the contract, under the conditions set by law. The Consumer should report any lack of conformity to info@launchyourcareer.be.
6. Orders, prices and payment
6.1. Order process. The Client selects an Offer, reviews the summary of the Order (description, duration, total price), accepts these Terms and confirms the Order with an obligation to pay. LYC then sends an Order confirmation email together with an invoice.
6.2. Prices. Prices are stated in euros. For Consumers, prices include VAT and all applicable taxes and fees. For Institutional Clients and other Professionals, prices may be quoted excluding VAT, as stated in the quote. LYC may change its prices at any time; changes do not affect Orders already confirmed.
6.3. Payment. Payment is due in full at the time of Order, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods are those shown at checkout (for example, Bancontact, Visa, Mastercard or bank transfer). Card payments are processed by a secure third-party payment provider; LYC does not store card details.
6.4. Access. Access to the Content and to Coaching Session booking is activated once payment has been received.
6.5. Late payment. For Professionals, any unpaid amount bears late-payment interest at the rate set by the Belgian Act of 2 August 2002 on combating late payment in commercial transactions, plus a flat-rate recovery fee of EUR 40, without prejudice to any higher proven damages. For Consumers, late-payment charges apply only in accordance with Book XIX of the CEL, after a free first reminder. LYC may suspend access to the Services until payment is received in full.
6.6. Paying third party. Where a third party pays on the Client's behalf, the Client remains bound by these Terms.
7. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
7.1. Fixed-term Subscriptions. A fixed-term Subscription (for example, 3, 6 or 12 months) gives access for the period stated in the Offer, starting on the date access is activated. It ends automatically at the end of that period, without renewal.
7.2. Recurring Subscriptions. Where the Client chooses a recurring Subscription, it renews automatically at the end of each period for the same duration, and the Client authorises LYC to charge the applicable fee to the chosen payment method at each renewal. The automatic renewal, its price and how to stop it are shown clearly and separately before the Order is confirmed.
7.3. Cancellation by the Client. The Client may stop the automatic renewal at any time from their Account or by email; the Subscription then ends at the end of the current paid period, and access remains available until then. In addition, in accordance with Article VI.91 of the CEL, once a Subscription has been tacitly renewed, a Consumer may terminate it at any time, without compensation, by giving notice of no more than two months; LYC will refund any amount already paid for the period after termination takes effect. Section 8 also remains applicable.
7.4. Unused access. Unused Content or unused access time within a Subscription period does not give rise to any refund, extension or credit, unless LYC agrees otherwise in writing.
8. Right of withdrawal and refund policy
8.1. Principle. In accordance with Articles VI.47 et seq. of the CEL, a Consumer has 14 calendar days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw from it, without giving any reason. This right does not apply to Professionals or Institutional Clients.
8.2. Digital content (videos, documents, case libraries). Access to digital content not supplied on a tangible medium is provided immediately after payment. To place an Order, the Consumer must therefore, at checkout, (i) expressly request that access begins immediately, before the end of the withdrawal period, and (ii) acknowledge that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal for that digital content. LYC confirms this request and acknowledgement in the Order confirmation (Section 3.2). Once access has started on that basis, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to that digital content (Article VI.53, 13° CEL).
8.3. Digital services and Coaching Sessions. AI-powered and other interactive features are digital services; Coaching Sessions are services. Performance starts within the withdrawal period only if the Consumer expressly requests it. If the Consumer has also acknowledged that they will lose the right of withdrawal once the service is fully performed, and the service has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal is lost (Article VI.53, 1° CEL). In all other cases, the Consumer may still withdraw but owes an amount proportionate to the services already provided at the date of withdrawal (Article VI.51, §3 CEL).
8.4. Mixed Offers. Where an Offer combines several components (for example, Content access, AI features and Coaching Sessions), the Offer page and Order summary state each component and its share of the total price. Any amount refundable or payable on withdrawal is calculated component by component on that basis.
8.5. How to withdraw. The Consumer may withdraw (i) through the online withdrawal function available in their Account ("Withdraw from contract"), accessible throughout the withdrawal period, (ii) by sending a clear statement to info@launchyourcareer.be, or (iii) by using the model withdrawal form in the Annex. LYC acknowledges receipt of any withdrawal without delay on a durable medium. LYC refunds the amounts due within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal, using the same payment method, at no cost to the Consumer.
8.6. Other refunds. Outside the cases provided in this Section, in Sections 5.6, 7.3, 9.4 and 14.3, or by mandatory law, amounts paid are not refundable. Nothing in these Terms limits the Consumer's statutory rights.
9. Coaching Sessions: booking, rescheduling, cancellation and recording
9.1. Booking. Coaching Sessions are booked through the Platform's scheduling tool. A booking is confirmed once the Client receives a confirmation email containing the date, time and video-call link.
9.2. Rescheduling or cancellation by the Client. The Client may reschedule or cancel a confirmed Coaching Session free of charge up to 24 hours before its start time. The Session is then credited back to the Client's Account for a new booking.
9.3. Late cancellation and no-show. If the Client cancels less than 24 hours before the start time, or does not join the Session within 10 minutes of its start, the Session credit is consumed and the Session is charged, unless the Client shows force majeure. This is without prejudice to the Consumer's statutory rights.
9.4. Cancellation by LYC. If LYC or a Coach cancels or fails to attend a Session, the Client may choose between a new booking at no extra cost and a refund of that Session.
9.5. Validity of credits. Coaching Sessions included in an Offer must be booked and used within the access period of that Offer (for example, 3 months for a 3-month package), as stated on the Offer page. If, during that period, LYC cannot offer the Client a reasonable number of available slots, the validity is extended until a Session can be held or, at the Client's choice, the unused Sessions are refunded. Otherwise, unused Sessions expire at the end of that period, without prejudice to Section 8.
9.6. Technical requirements. The Client is responsible for a stable internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and a quiet environment.
9.7. Recording. LYC does not record Coaching Sessions without the Client's prior, explicit consent. The Client may refuse or stop a recording at any time. The Client may not record a Session, in whole or in part, without the consent of the Coach.
9.8. Session materials. Cases, questions and documents shown during a Session belong to LYC or the Coach and may not be recorded, copied or shared, except documents that LYC expressly provides to the Client for download, which may be used under Sections 10.2 and 10.3 (including non-commercial practice with peers).
10. Intellectual property and licence of use
10.1. Ownership. The Platform, the Content, the LYC name and logo, and all related texts, videos, cases, models, software and designs are protected by intellectual property law and belong to LYC or its licensors. No ownership right is transferred to the Client.
10.2. Licence. LYC grants the Client a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Content solely for their own, non-commercial interview preparation. Online access lasts for the duration of the Subscription. Documents that LYC expressly makes available for download (for example, templates or Excel models) may be kept as one copy and used for the same personal purpose after the Subscription ends, unless the contract is terminated for breach under Section 14.1.
10.3. Restrictions. Unless LYC gives prior written consent, the Client may not copy, reproduce, screen-record, download in bulk, distribute, publish, sell, translate, adapt or otherwise exploit the Content, nor use it to train third parties, to train AI models or to build a competing product or service. The Client may, however, practise individual cases with peers on a non-commercial basis, without sharing the Content publicly.
10.4. No account sharing. Subscriptions are strictly personal. Sharing login credentials or giving any third party access to the Content is a serious breach of these Terms, handled in accordance with Section 14.1.
10.5. Client contributions. The Client keeps all rights in the content they submit (CV, written or spoken answers, recordings, feedback). LYC uses that content only to provide the Services requested by the Client, including generating feedback through AI-service providers acting on LYC's behalf and limited human quality review. Any other use, such as using a contribution to train or improve AI models or reusing it as an anonymised example, takes place only as described in the Privacy Policy and, where required, with the Client's separate consent. LYC will not publish a testimonial or review with the Client's name without their prior consent.
11. Client obligations and prohibited activities
11.1. The Client undertakes to use the Platform and the Services in good faith, in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
11.2. In particular, the Client shall not:
- share their Account or Subscription with any third party, or create several Accounts;
- extract, scrape or systematically collect Content or data from the Platform, including by bots, scripts or other automated means;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with the Platform's security or access-control features;
- use the Services for any commercial purpose, including to offer competing training or coaching;
- contact Coaches to arrange paid sessions outside the Platform, or solicit other Clients for third-party services;
- harass, insult or behave inappropriately towards Coaches, LYC staff or other Clients;
- post or transmit unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, misleading or offensive content;
- upload viruses or any code that may harm the Platform.
12. Promotions and Institutional Clients
12.1. Promotions. LYC may, at its discretion, run promotional operations (discount codes, partner offers, student-association rates). Their conditions and validity period are stated in the promotion itself. A promotion cannot be combined with another, applied retroactively to a past Order or exchanged for cash, unless stated otherwise. A Client who does not meet the conditions of a promotion is not entitled to any compensation.
12.2. Institutional Clients. Where Services are purchased by an Institutional Client for its beneficiaries, the specific agreement with that Institutional Client governs price, payment and duration. Beneficiaries remain bound by these Terms for their use of the Platform.
12.3. Reporting to Institutional Clients. By default, LYC reports to an Institutional Client only aggregated usage statistics. Individual reporting (for example, a beneficiary's progress or completion status) is provided only where the agreement with the Institutional Client provides for it and the beneficiary has been informed in advance of the data shared, its recipients and its purpose, as set out in the Privacy Policy. LYC does not share a beneficiary's CV, answers, recordings or detailed results with an Institutional Client without that beneficiary's consent.
13. Liability
13.1. LYC is liable for damage resulting from a failure to perform its obligations under these Terms. It is not liable for failures attributable to the Client, to force majeure, or to a third party for whom LYC is not responsible. Coaches and subcontractors engaged by LYC are not such third parties.
13.2. LYC does not guarantee that the Platform will be available without interruption or error. Maintenance, updates or technical incidents may temporarily interrupt access. LYC will use reasonable efforts to limit their duration.
13.3. For Professionals, LYC is not liable for any indirect or consequential damage, including loss of profit, opportunity, data or reputation. LYC's total liability, for any cause, is limited to the amounts paid by the Client for the Services concerned during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
13.4. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes LYC's liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including the statutory warranty rights of Consumers for digital content and services.
13.5. The Client is liable for any damage caused to LYC by a breach of these Terms, in particular Sections 10 and 11.
14. Suspension and termination
14.1. By LYC. If the Client breaches these Terms, LYC may send a notice by email; if the breach is not remedied within 8 days, LYC may terminate the contract. For serious breaches that cannot be remedied (in particular account sharing, copying or redistribution of Content, or abusive behaviour), LYC may suspend access immediately and terminate the contract without prior notice, informing the Client by email of the reasons. In both cases, no refund is due for the remaining period, without prejudice to any damages.
14.2. By the Client. The Client may close their Account at any time by email. Closing the Account ends access to the Services; refunds are governed solely by Sections 7 to 9.
14.3. Discontinuation or substantial change of an Offer. If LYC discontinues an Offer, or substantially changes its main characteristics, during a paid period, the Client may choose between an equivalent Offer and a pro rata refund of the unused period.
14.4. Effects. On termination or expiry, online access to the Content ends. Downloaded documents may continue to be used in accordance with Section 10.2, except after termination for breach under Section 14.1, in which case the Client must delete them. Sections 10, 13, 15 and 16 survive termination.
15. Personal data
15.1. LYC processes the Client's personal data as controller, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018, for the purposes of managing Accounts and Orders, delivering the Services, invoicing and, with consent where required, sending information about LYC Offers.
15.2. Details of the data processed, retention periods, recipients (including payment, hosting, scheduling and AI-service providers) and the Client's rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability are set out in the Privacy Policy available on the Website.
15.3. The Client may exercise these rights by email to info@launchyourcareer.be and may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
16. Complaints, governing law and jurisdiction
16.1. Complaints. Any complaint about an Order or the Services should be sent to info@launchyourcareer.be as soon as possible. LYC will acknowledge it and aim to respond within 15 business days.
16.2. Consumer mediation. If no amicable solution is found, a Consumer may refer the dispute free of charge to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur / Consumentenombudsdienst, www.mediationconsommateur.be).
16.3. Governing law. These Terms are governed by Belgian law, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. A Consumer habitually resident in another EU Member State keeps the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of that State.
16.4. Jurisdiction. Any dispute with a Professional falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the French-speaking courts of Brussels. A Consumer may bring proceedings before the courts of their domicile or those of LYC's registered office, as provided by applicable law.
17. Miscellaneous and contact
17.1. Entire agreement. These Terms, the Order confirmation and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between LYC and the Client regarding the Services.
17.2. Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be replaced by a valid provision as close as possible to its original intent; the other provisions remain in force.
17.3. No waiver. LYC's failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
17.4. Assignment. LYC may assign the contract to an affiliated company or to a successor in the business, provided the Client's rights are not reduced. The Client may not assign the contract without LYC's prior written consent.
17.5. Electronic communications. The Client agrees that contractual communications, invoices and notices may be sent by email and that electronic records kept by LYC constitute valid evidence of Orders and acceptance of these Terms.
17.6. Language. These Terms are drafted in English. Any translation is provided for convenience; the English version prevails, subject to mandatory language rules applicable to Consumers.
17.7. Contact. L&W Advisory SRL – Launch Your Career, Avenue Arnaud Fraiteur 15/23, 1050 Ixelles, Belgium – CBE BE 1042.640.627 – info@launchyourcareer.be – www.launchyourcareer.be
